Are you looking for hard-core thrills but haven’t found the right place yet? Do you enjoy flying or just trying out new adventures? Well, you’ve just found the right experience for you! Paragliding over the city of Assisi will tick all your boxes!

Your adventure will start from Monte Subasio, 1290 metres up in the Umbria-Marche Apennines, which tower over the stunning setting of Assisi and the Umbria valley below.

Under the guidance of an expert instructor, who will give you all the information you need before take-off and who will accompany you during the flight on the two-seater paraglider, you’ll feel light and comfortable in the harness and be able to enjoy the boundless freedom you feel while gliding through the air.

You’ll begin with a short run that will give you the momentum needed to take flight; you will feel the breeze on your face and your feet lift off the ground. You’ll find yourself catching your breath, feeling the adrenalin and, just a moment later, you’ll feel like a feather floating on the breeze. Once you’ve launched off, it will feel incredible when you look down and see the immensity of nature all around and below you. As your flight continues, you’ll acquire more confidence and stability and you have the immense privilege of admiring the village of Assisi and the Basilica di S. Francesco from an astonishing and breath-taking aerial view, and then landing feather-light on a field in the immediate vicinity.

Paragliding is not considered an extreme sport, but an enjoyable and suitable sporting activity for everyone and you should try it at least once in your life! So don’t hesitate, let yourself be swept away by enthusiasm!

If you’ve never done it before, paragliding is a fantastic and unique experience that will set your pulse racing and give you the amazing opportunity to see the world from a new perspective. You’ll be longing to do it again – guaranteed!

Recommended clothing

Comfortable clothing is recommended, similar to the clothing usually needed in the mountains, including boots with a sturdy sole. It is always important to wear or carry with you a windcheater/anorak, even in the hottest months. Sunglasses are recommended.

Included

The equipment for safe flight is provided by the instructors: paraglider, harness, helmet. At the end of the flight you will be given a video of your experience shot with an action cam.

The activity will last about 3 hours.

Additional information

This activity lasts half a day, so lunch is not provided. In your itinerary you can still select the lunch option, above your timeline. We will be able to recommend one of the best places to eat when you return.

Requirements

Activity suitable only for adults (age 18+).
To do this activity it is essential to have a good level of physical fitness and to be in good health.
We advise you to get a good night’s sleep the night before the activity, to fully enjoy the experience.
We advise you against experiencing this activity on an empty stomach, as ot will help you avoid any nausea.
Paragliding flying can also be undertaken by vertigo sufferers, since you fly in a sitting positions, thereby not stimulating thebalance organs that trigger vertigo.

El vuelo en parapente también puede ser realizado por aquellos que sufren de vértigo, ya que tiene lugar sentados, por lo que no estimula el sentido del equilibrio que regula el vértigo.
