Would you like to experience adrenalin-charged thrills and spills combined with fun and a group activity? If you like being in contact with nature and want to try a thrilling and compelling sport, rafting on the Nera river is what you are looking for!

Rafting is a fun and highly adrenalin-filled sport, but you needn’t worry if you’re not an expert because downstream rafting on the Nera River, in Umbria, is easy and suitable for everyone, the young, adults, the elderly and people with disabilities! In addition, the course will obviously take place in complete safety and under the guidance of professional instructors.

After receiving the equipment you must wear during the trip, you will have a short lesson during which the instructor will explain the safety rules, the correct use of the equipment and the behavioural guidelines to respect during the descent.

You can choose the route that extends for about 8 km, or the shorter stretch of about 4 km.

The adventure will begin aboard a special unsinkable raft together with the instructor and, together with other participants, you will begin to navigate the waters of the Nera river. You’ll feel the water splashing on your face and the raft sway with the motion of the river; the current will become more intense and will push the boat faster, making it proceed with greater speed. With a paddle in hand, you will challenge the current in the most inaccessible points and together with the other crew members govern the movement of the boat under the essential instructions of your expert instructor.

Thanks to a great team effort, you’ll avoid the obstacles along the way and have the privilege of being immersed in a wonderful landscape, rich in woods and multi-coloured vegetation; you’ll have the chance to admire a fascinating and constantly-changing panorama as you proceed down river.

Furthermore, if you want to make your adventure even more exciting, you’ll have the opportunity to dive into the regenerating waters of the Nera river from a natural springboard!

Recommended clothing

Bring with you a change of clothes or a bathing costume/trunks, a towel and water-proof mules.
On colder days we suggest you wear a technical sports sweater.

Included

You will be given a wetsuit and boots in Neoprene, a life jacket, helmet and paddle. The rafts are all provided by the instructors. In the starting area there are showers, toilets and changing rooms where you can change for the departure and where you can leave your personal or valuable items.

To do this activity it is essential to have a good level of physical fitness and to be in good health.

Impaired mobility

The activity is also suitable for people with motor or other disabilities. In any case, we invite you to discuss your needs with our staff. If you find out that the experience is not suited to you (or others in your group) we will be happy to offer you an alternative activity or a full refund.

Additional information

This activity lasts half a day, so lunch is not provided. In your itinerary you can still select the lunch option, above your timeline. We will be able to recommend one of the best places to eat when you return.
