Walking on a lunar landscape

As if on a science-fiction film set, the views across this lunar landscape are full of ‘special effects’

Our hike starts from the square in Monte Prata and then heads straight to Monte Palazzo Borghese. What you’ll see around you is an almost ghostly landscape, like the set of a science fiction film. But this is not fiction, and you’ll be on an fantastic path where strange and special effects are created by the karst topography, formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks that produce a spectacular landscape. We will then go on to the Circo del Laghetto and up to Passo di Sasso Borghese. Along the way you’ll be able to see stunning views that only the grandeur of the Sibillini mountain range can offer. We’ll be looking out over the plain called Pian Grande and the Valle dell’Aso, with a view that will be food for your soul. And to top it all, this path is suitable for almost everyone! With a minimum of walking practise and an endless appetite for exploration, you will enjoy a truly unique and exhilarating day outdoors.

Recommended Clothing

Bring a windcheater/anorak with you, even if the activity takes place in the summer months.
We recommend you wear trekking footwear.

– A warm sweater, such as a technical sports shir, for sudden drops in temperature
– A change of clothes (especially socks) in case of sudden rain
– Hat with a sun visor
