Discover the true craftsmanship of Perugia

This craftsmanship tour will enable you to see first-hand the activities and the artefacts made by some of the most esteemed artisans in Perugia, via a route that winds through the picturesque alleys in the historic centre. The departure point for the tour is in Via dei Priori, the fascinating street perpendicular to Corso Vannucci and arena of the city’s public life since the Middle Ages. You’ll have an opportunity to discover the techniques of goldsmiths, sculptors, painters and engravers who have chosen to live and keep the historic centre alive in an era marked by the advent of large shopping centres. The tour will be supervised by the volunteers from the Association that takes care of the interests of Perugia’s shopkeepers and publicizes their activities. It will also be possible to buy artefacts made by Perugia’s artists directly on site: they’ll be happy to explain and occasionally – when circumstances allow – enable customers to interact during the creation of their unique pieces, thus entering into the heart of the creative processes behind these handicrafts that have been handed down through the centuries. Furthermore, if you wish, you can combine the route with a guided tour of Perugia’s historic centre.
