Cross Country – the Sassovivo woods by MTB

In these magnificent woods you’ll need maximum peddle power

This challenging tour focuses on exploring the woods surrounding the sacred abbey of Sassovivo and covers a route that is not particularly long (20 km) but which nevertheless represents a high degree of difficulty due to the 950 metre ascent. It is therefore recommended only for those who have a good level of training. The departure and arrival points are in Sant’Eraclio, a hamlet of Foligno. From there we’ll cycle along paths hidden amongst the sacred woods all around the abbey. This holm oak grove has been a place of prayer and meditation for the monastic community for over a millennium and you’ll feel the special atmosphere as you pedal through it, mixed with a sense of awe given by the sacredness of the place. Recommended clothing
