The Way of St Francis by horse in 3 days
3 days immersed in nature horse riding on the Way of St Francis
This tour option will enable you to discover the Way of St Francis, magically immersed in the woods and valleys of the Umbrian Apennines. A horse will be your faithful companion throughout the journey.
On the first day, we will set off from the hills of Umbertide and head straight for Gubbio.
The second day’s departure is from Gubbio with arrival in Valfabbrica.
On the third day, the tour will end with the last ride to Assisi.
We will be riding on dirt paths, negotiating rooted undergrowth and crossing rivers, following in the footsteps of St Francis. We will be setting off in the morning every day, and then making a lunch stop after about 2.5-3 hours of riding. Lunches will be eaten along the way: we will set up small refreshment camps where we will cook and eat together.
The evenings, however, will be much more comfortable. In Gubbio and Valfabbrica, in the lovely farm stays that will accommodate us overnight, we will have the opportunity to taste the best typical local products during fantastic dinners with our travel companions. After that, we will be able to rest peacefully, recharge our batteries and be ready for another day on horseback.
At the end of the tour, our staff cars will be waiting to take us back to the starting point.
